The purpose of the project is to repair the existing sewer system in the area.
Crews are repairing the sewer system along Gladiola Street. This work will involve pot holing, trenching and pits along the East side of Gladiola St. to allow a slipline (smaller pipe) to be inserted into the existing sewer line.
Road closures will be needed for this project. The public will be notified in advance of any closure. Please drive safely in the work zone and follow all signed detour routes.
Traffic Control Update: Lane shifts along Gladiola Street with alternating one-way flagging and temporary traffic lights along Gladiola from 900 S. to 500 S. starting on July 28.

This project is part of an overall effort to upgrade and improve the sewer, water and storm drain systems. This improved infrastructure will support and foster economic development throughout Salt Lake City.

Construction Update: Lane-Shifts with Alternating One-Way Traffic Flow
In an effort to accommodate the sewer rehabilitation and maintain traffic flow to businesses, lanes will be shifting to the west side of Gladiola St. from 900 S. north to 500 S. with an alternating one-way traffic flow. Traffic will be directed by flaggers during the day and by temporary traffic lights at night.
