This project will construct a new sewer lift station and pressurized sewer force main on Salt Lake City property just north of 500 S./700 S. from 4650 W. to Gladiola Street. With Salt Lake City's population growth and the West Side business community thriving, this project will add capacity to meet these growing needs. It will also take some existing sewer flows from the International Center to free up capacity for the ongoing expansion of the Salt Lake City International Airport. The project will provide greater flexibility in the operation of the West Side Collection System when unusual flow conditions occur.
This project is part of an overall effort to upgrade and improve the sewer, water and storm drain systems. This improved infrastructure will support and foster economic development throughout Salt Lake City.
While SLC Public Utilities aims to keep construction impacts as minimal as possible, some impacts are unavoidable. Because most of this project will be built on Salt Lake City property outside the public right of way, disruptions are expected to be minimal.
